The mission of SCMS is to provide a Montessori educational environment that supports each child's unique intellectual, emotional, spiritual and moral growth.

Our Committment to The Child

Our environment assists the child in the development of his or her greatest potential and discovery of her own place in the universe.

By bringing to the child the "keys" to knowledge of the universe we aid her in constructing an understanding of the world and an awareness of a connection with all of humanity and to everything in existence, both animate and inanimate.

SCMS is committed to fulfilling its mission by:

• Providing a rich curriculum that adheres to the philosophy and principles of Dr. Maria Montessori as set forth by Association Montessori Internacionale (AMI)
• Facilitating cooperation and involvement of parents in the school and of students, teachers, parents, and staff with the greater community
• Fostering a caring school community that emphasizes respect for one another and celebrates diversity
• Providing an environment that develops skills for lifelong learning and exploration by children, parents, and staff, thereby encouraging continued growth
